Jayce Kolinski

Nonfiction Filmmaker

Jayce Kolinski is a nonfiction filmmaker and photographer currently based in Milwaukee, WI. Their films take on a hybrid form that engages with personal, cultural, and environmental investigations of the places. Rooted in personal experience, their films reflect on the hand of the maker and the relationship between viewer and viewed. These works are intertwined by a collage of analog and digital video formats that explore alternative processes to image-making.

Jayce Kolinski received a BFA in Film from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee during which they founded Milwaukee Nonfiction. After college, they began work as a freelance producer and cinematographer and created an outdoor screening series about the history of conservation along the Milwaukee River. Their films have been exhibited at venues and festivals such as the Athens International Film Festival, the Milwaukee Film Festival, and the Chicago Underground Film Festival.
